The White Cottage

MY DAYS IN RETIREMENT

Don’t Worry ‘Bout It

Had a nice visit with Claudia on Sunday. They were just getting settled back in after their week at the cottage, and it sounds like a good time was had by everyone. Always a treat to hear what kind of adventures Zach and Zoe get into. Also congratulations to Ty for getting his driver’s license.

Today was spent mostly getting caught up on house cleaning, a little baking for Nat while I’m away. Trying to get some treats in the freezer for him for his tea in the evenings. I’m going to be thinking about him the whole time I’m gone. Yes, I know he can survive without me, but sometimes it’s nice to “take care of your man” – I always love to spoil him, but know I shouldn’t.

Took time out after lunch to get Felicia’s birthday gift. Her birthday is the day after I get home. She’ll be 13 – another teenager in the family!! Good gift this time around – she’s not expecting this one!!

Was also talking to Bonnie and hearing about the mistake that was made over Dalton’s gift. Sounds like she’s had to do some scrambling, so I told her not to worry about getting it to me for wrapping. I’ll just pack the wrapping supplies and wrap the gift in the motel room when we get there. That way she’s got another day to get the problem fixed! Also told her about the “backup” that was available. It’s a good thing to always have a back-up!!!!

Born and raised in a small town in Ontario, Canada, with 5 sisters and a brother. Now retired, my husband and I travel, play golf and am slowly renovating our new (old) home. After my kidney transplant in 1999, we've learned to enjoy life to the fullest. Nat and I have driven across Canada, taken an Alaskan cruise and drove home via the Northern United States. We've also been to Mexico, the Caribbean, the East Coast of Canada and Cape Breton. We've done the "Snowbird" thing, having lived in Destin, Florida for a couple of months of the year. In 2007 we changed our travel plans in order to move into and renovate our new "old" home, but hope to someday get back on the road again. We also love returning to Scotland (Nat's origin of birth) to visit his family and tour the Highlands and surrounding Isles.
